Elana Rosenberg, GSA Network and Programming Coordinator

Elana Rosenberg started as the GSA Network and Programming Coordinator at Youth Pride, Inc. in September of 2009. She received her Bachelor’s in Sociology from Smith College and then continued on for a Masters degree in College Student Personnel from Miami University of Ohio. While at Miami, she served as the Graduate Advisor for SPECTRUM (the MU GSA), and designed and implemented a Safe Space training program for students, staff, and faculty. Through her work at Youth Pride, she has facilitated hundreds of workshops and sensitivity trainings on LGBTQQ topics. In her free time, she enjoys spending time in the woods, and hanging out with her pets.

Where are you originally from?
I grew up on a horse farm in Kentucky, and lived there until I went to Smith College in western Mass. After college, I moved to Burlington, VT for a year, back to Kentucky for three years, and then to Ohio for graduate school at Miami University. I moved to Rhode Island in the summer of '07.
What was/is your favorite and least favorite subject in school? (high school/ college)
High School Favorite: Anatomy and Physiology, we dissected a cat! High School Least Favorite: Physics (I didn't like the teacher)
College Favorite: Sculpture, we did welding and bronze casting
College Least Favorite: Anthropology, I was expecting Indiana Jones...
