Kerri Kanelos, Executive Director 

Kerri Kanelos, the Executive Director, joined the Youth Pride Inc. team in June 2011.

She holds a Bachelors Degree in Mass Communications from Franklin Pierce University and a Masters Degree in Gender/Cultural Studies from Simmons College, where she focused her coursework on queer theory, gender theory, and popular culture. Her thesis project included presenting workshops at Youth Pride on queer pop culture.

Before Youth Pride Kerri spent eight years at Family Resources Community Action, first as an Employment Specialist for pregnant and parenting teens and most recently as the Director of the agency’s Employment & Training division. Kerri is also a freelance writer whose work has appeared in publications such as ColorLines, Prevention, EDGE Providence, Elevate Difference, and Bitch: A Feminist Response to Pop Culture.
