Internships

Students can apply to do their field placement/experience and/or internship at YPI. We accept interns from a variety of educational settings including: MSW, BSW, Women/Gender Studies and Community Health programs. We also accept Marketing, Fundraising/Development and are open to other creative internship program ideas. We also accept a limited number of high school student interns and Senior Project students. Senior Project students must give us plenty of notice-do not wait until the last minute.

The process begins by emailing our Executive Director a short statement of interest. Please include your school, degree program, internship requirements (ie. 16hrs per week for 2 semesters) and supervisory requirements (ie. 1 hour of supervision per week). You will then be contacted by a staff member. If we are able to meet your educational requirements you will be sent an intern application and a short informal interview will be scheduled. During the interview, we’ll give you a tour of the space, explore YPI’s needs, your skills and interests. Afterwards, you’ll participate in short orientation session to familiarize yourself with YPI’s culture, youth and staff.
