Volunteer Opportunities

We utilize volunteers in a variety of ways. Volunteers can serve on board committees, help with special events, assist with fundraising and development, help out in the drop-in center, lead a workshop or help in our food pantry. The process for applying to be a volunteer is simple- just complete the online volunteer application linked below and you will be on your way! A YPI staff member will contact you to set up an interview to discuss your interests and our needs at that time.

At the time of the interview, or before you can start volunteering in the space, we will need to get a copy of a recent Bureau of Criminal  Information (BCI) check. A BCI check can be obtained from the RI Attorney General's office with a check or money order for $5 (no cash). Follow this link for further information.

If you are within our age range (13-23) the process is a little different. We ask that you stop by and spend some time in our space to learn about ways you can get involved before we meet with you.

Do you need to do volunteer hours for school, scouting or court?
Please specify that in the comments area of the volunteer application and be sure to include the number of hours needed.
