Community Food Pantry
YPI's food pantry is a RI Food Bank Member Agency. This is our only program that is not age contingent. This program is open to anyone in the community who is in need. We are a client choice pantry, which means that patrons chose which products they wish to take and fill their basket. Each household is able to get about 2 bags of food at each appointment.
Our pantry is open from 1pm-4pm, Monday through Thursday by appointment only.

Are you looking for a specific way to volunteer at YPI? Please consider assisting with our pantry. We are in need of folks who can give a few hours, one afternoon per week to assist our food pantry patrons. We are looking for volunteers that can commit to some length of time. This could be for the summer, semester or school year.
Food Pantry volunteers must be able to work independently, able to perform minor clerical tasks for data collection purposes and be comfortable using a computer for basic tasks (we use google calendar for our apointment scheduling). It is preferred that volunteers also be able to life about 35lbs at a time comfortably to assist with stocking the pantry shelves. Spanish speaking volunteers are highly encouraged to apply.
