Michelle Forcier, MD

Michelle Forcier is a board certified pediatrician who has been providing an unusual array of gender and sexuality based health services for almost 20 years. She takes a lifespan developmental perspective that celebrates a diversity of kids, adults, and families. Her grandparents were from Chepatchet and she plans to stay a RI doctor a long, long time. She has close to 100 gender nonconforming individuals in her practice from the Northeast. Michelle has been educating residents since 1995 and in conjunction with Rhode Island Hospital completed a 1 year grant piloting improving education and training of Medicine-Pediatric residents in 2012.
The Medicine-Pediatrics team is very excited about expanding both education and now services to the RI LGB and T community. In collaboration with Dr. Michelle Forcier, the Medicine-Pediatrics clinic is committed to opening up their practice to Trans* folks of all ages. They will be accepting primary care patients on a rolling basis and will otherwise work with folks to provide hormone specialty care and referring folks to other safe primary care providers as needed. It is important to understand that this is a teaching clinic which means that you may see different doctors but they will always be supervised by an experienced attending physician. It also means that you will be helping to train the next generation of doctors to improve the care for transgender folks in Rhode Island and beyond.
