Youth Pride, Inc. begins Extended Winter Response Hours from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Weekdays starting December 1, 2025, through Friday, April 24, 2026.
Providence, RI — Youth Pride, Inc. (YPI), with funding from the Rhode Island Executive Office of Housing, is launching Extended Winter Response Hours to provide critical support to young adults aged 18–24 experiencing homelessness. Beginning Monday, December 1, 2025, through Friday, April 24, 2026, the drop-in center at 743 Westminster St., Providence, will be open weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
As Rhode Island’s only LGBTQIA+ focused drop-in center, YPI is expanding its hours to offer a safe and welcoming space where young adults can access a hot breakfast, a light lunch, Wi-Fi, device charging, and the Basic Needs Pantry, stocked with food, toiletries, clothing, and other essentials.
YPI’s Services Team will provide case management services, including financial literacy, resume building, assistance accessing health insurance and mental health services, and referrals to community partners for additional resources.
“Over our thirty-three years, Youth Pride, Inc. has built deep trust in the community by providing wraparound services to every young person who walks through our doors, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation,” says Rush Nicotera, Executive Director of YPI. “With the launch of our Extended Winter Response Hours, we are grateful that we can extend our impact and offer young adults a safe, warm, welcoming space where they can access basic needs, case management, and support from clinical therapists, such as services that help reinforce skills to avoid substance use, reduce relapse, and ensure LGBTQ+ and gender-diverse youth are treated with dignity and respect.”
Community members interested in supporting the warming center can donate supplies. The center is currently in need of unused socks and new cold-weather clothing. To learn more, please email: Info@YouthPrideRI.org or visit their Amazon Wishlist: a.co/982z2Vb
